The medicine pouch is one of the most personal and enduring forms in Indigenous material culture — a small, portable vessel carried close to the body as a constant reminder of the sacred forces that surround and protect the wearer. Across many traditions, pouches like these have been used to hold sacred objects, prayers, and protective intentions, their beaded walls quietly holding and releasing that energy into the wearer’s life with every step.

Each pouch in this collection is handwoven from seed beads and glass beads on Nymo thread, finished with a soft leatherette lining and a beaded strap sized to rest at the heart — the most intimate place for a vessel of prayer and intention to travel. The sacred flower design woven into every piece draws from Huichol (Wixarika) spiritual tradition, where the flower is understood not merely as a symbol of beauty but as a living form of prayer — a vessel of divine communication and an expression of the community’s deepest spiritual intentions. In Huichol tradition, flowers carry prayers upward to the gods and open a channel between the visible world and the sacred world that underlies all of creation.
