Purses

These handcrafted purses are wearable art in the most complete sense — every one a fully beaded, meticulously constructed piece built from seed beads, Nymo thread, and carefully chosen materials, with designs rooted in Indigenous artistic traditions that have been honored and refined across generations.

The collection spans a range of styles and scales, from compact coin purses to longer envelope-style pieces, each one worked in a distinct design tradition. Shoshone-style beadwork brings bold geometric patterning and vibrant palette combinations drawn from one of the most visually distinctive beading traditions in North American Indigenous art. Sarape-style designs carry the rich, horizontally banded color work of the Southwest, translated into seed bead form with the same commanding warmth and visual energy as the textile tradition that inspired them. Chevron patterns move through the collection with clean, rhythmic precision. Feathers, the Medicine Wheel, the Eight Pointed Star, and other sacred symbols appear across multiple pieces, each carrying its own layered meaning — protection, direction, balance, and the interconnectedness of all living things.

Every purse in this collection is functional as well as beautiful, lined and finished for everyday use. And because every piece is handcrafted one at a time from natural and hand-selected materials, no two are ever identical. The purse you choose is the only one of its kind in the world.

Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist, Angelique Acevedo-Barron, confirming its handcrafted origin and the integrity of the work.
